About Just Passing Through

Humanity is just a blip. A flash. A tiny dot on Earth’s super-long, very dramatic timeline. Before we even showed up with our big brains, opposable thumbs, and upright swagger, the planet went through FIVE (!!!) mass extinctions. And we’re over here thinking we’re the main character.

Our individual little human lifespans are even teenier. Basically a blink in the cosmic eye.

This painting shares a name with my solo exhibition: Just Passing Through.

It’s a gentle (okay, maybe slightly existential) nudge to ask: what kind of footprints are we leaving, both as individuals and as a species? What story will our existence tell when the dust settles?
