About Choss Capitol 

Sedona’s sandstone makes for some dicey loose rock but that doesn’t stop climber dudes from sending Sedona’s red walls. To quote the lingo straight out of Climbing Magazine: “Fun cragging pitch, but some scuzzy rock quality typical for Sedona red stuff … ”

I named this piece “Choss Capitol” as a nod to Sedona’s Capitol Butte but also the nickname climbers have given Sedona for its soft, challenging rock, aka “choss.”

You’ll notice some red rock crumbling off the wall in this painting.
