About My Brain is a Mossy Green Forest

My best friend asked me what the inside of my brain looked like. Without hesitation, I answered instinctively: A mossy green forest.

By day, that forest is vibrant and joyful with moss glowing in the sunlight, streams trickling along the forest floor. But at night, shadows creep in, and moving forward takes effort. This dance between light and dark inspired my newest painting, a piece that feels like a self-portrait.

People often describe my work as joyful, playful, and full of blissful humor. It’s an invitation to escape, to step into the present moment, and experience flow with Little Dude in the great outdoors. But if I’m being honest, just like many humans, my mind isn’t all sunshine and carefree hikes. There’s some shadowy, overgrown terrain up there too. The darkness lives comfortably alongside the bright parts. Yet in that delicate space where light meets life’s heavier moments, there’s growth, resilience, and the quiet reminder that the sunshine always finds its way back.
